From antique toys to internationally acclaimed scale models: the story of Weise Toys

Manfred Weise brings more than four decades of experience in the trade of antique toys. In 2007, he launched his own brand, Weise Toys, which over nearly 20 years has grown into an internationally respected name for high-quality, realistic scale models and exclusive collectibles. Below, you can read how the story of Weise Toys has evolved, from the early years to its current success.

The beginning

Manfred Weise was active in the trade of antique toys for more than 40 years. His focus was originally on tin toys from various manufacturers, ranging from Arnold to Zeuke, as well as model cars in HO/1:87 scale (such as Lego and Wiking) and 1:43 scale (such as Corgi Toys, Dinky Toys, Tekno, and Siku). Due to the changing collector market, the range had to be continuously adapted and expanded.

Launch of our first own collectible model

From 1991 to 2009, Manfred Weise, together with Dr. Wilfried Raschke, published the recommended reference work for Siku collectors, the Siku Collector’s Catalogue “RAWE”. By the late 1990s, it became increasingly difficult to find high-quality toys from the 1950s and 1960s. At the same time, interest grew among younger collectors in prototypical scale models of vehicles, fully finished and detailed.

From 2003 to 2008, Manfred Weise produced special promotional models in limited editions, based on the Siku Farmer series and Universal Hobbies tractors. This laid the groundwork for his own brand. On November 11, 2007, during the opening of Agritechnica in Hanover, he launched the first own collectible model under the brand name “Weise Toys” in 1:32 scale. The focus was on an accurate representation of all visual and technical details, aimed at the discerning model collector.

Focus and development

In contact with collectors, Manfred continuously explored which models were desired, with a particular focus on vehicles from the 1970s to 2000, the so-called “youngtimers,” which were previously missing from the market. Over the past 15 years, Weise Toys has firmly established itself as a reliable brand in the market for high-quality scale models and collectibles.

The transfer to Holland Oto

In 2021, due to his age, Manfred Weise stepped back from operational activities and transferred the brand to Bram Sevens, head of Holland Oto B.V. Under the name “Weise Toys Collectibles,” the legacy of Manfred Weise continues, combined with new creative ideas.

What others say about us

From the many projects we have successfully completed, we have compiled a few recent statements below.

I am very satisfied with both the products from Weise Toys and your service.

The quality of the models is outstanding and consistently reliable. This reliability is a great advantage, especially in the high-end collector segment. Your service is always professional, friendly, and solution-oriented.

I would also like to highlight the very high-quality product photos of the miniatures. They are detailed, realistic, and support the purchasing decision perfectly.

Overall, I can recommend Weise Toys without reservation and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
